About Douglas

I’m Douglas Hunter, founder of Legacy Maven AI.

Born in New York, my career has spanned five industries and two continents. At 19, after a study-abroad term in Tokyo, I became the first foreign hire at Mitsubishi Enpitsu, a 70-year-old Japanese firm. Living in a six-tatami-mat room and joining the factory’s dawn calisthenics taught me that true value starts with deeply understanding the people you serve.

Next, I invested in and helped launch The Princeton Review of Japan—my first entrepreneurial venture. From there I moved to Los Angeles and spent four years as a development and production executive at Outlaw Productions, then produced three indie features of my own. One of those films, Urbania, premiered at Sundance and sold to Lions Gate—proof that I can ship creative projects under pressure.

I then spent a decade in tech, negotiating 3-D content deals with Warner Bros. and partnership agreements with Samsung and LG, honing my ability to turn complex problems into win-win outcomes. When the real-estate market called, I closed over 60 transactions—more than $50 million in volume—guiding families through life’s biggest chapters.

Post-COVID, I moved to Hawai‘i as a financial representative and insurance broker. Wrestling with the busywork of quoting policies and juggling spreadsheets sparked my quest for smarter leverage. Today, through Legacy Maven AI, I help entrepreneurs and small- to mid-sized companies overcome AI apprehension and turn AI into a private, steady virtual team. By listening first and tailoring every solution, I help you reclaim hours of busywork so you can focus on growth—without losing your personal touch.

“Focus and clarity unlock your best results.”
